Application deadline1
German citizens, Bildungsinländer2, EU citizens3 15 July 2026
Non-EU citizens 28 February 2026

1 If you do not have a final grade for your bachelor at the time of application, you can hand in proof of it later on (up to July 15th for non-EU citizens and Oct. 6th for all other categories). You must, however, still submit your application by the application deadline with the required minimum number of ECTS and the grade point average at the time of application. Applications without minimum number of ECTS and grade point average cannot be processed.

2 For purposes of application you are classified under "Bildungsinländer" if you hold a Bachelor's degree from a German university; a Master's degree alone does not count.

3 Citizens of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, as well as family members of EU citizens which are themselves not EU citizens but have residence in Germany, also belong to this category.

If you are neither a German citizen nor a "Bildungsinlander" (see footnote 3 above) you must also in parallel submit a second application to the International Office of LMU (deadline July 15th). This applies to both EU and non-EU applicants.
The links below describe the details of the application sent to the LMU Geology Master's Program which is required by all applicants. For details on the other application for international applicants, please visit the webpages of the International Office.
